Extracellular Signals and Pancreatic -cell Development: A Brief Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Cell lineage development is a finely tuned process of proliferation and differentiation, survival and apoptosis, that is regulated by numerous extracellular signals. Here we review some of the extracellular signals— including insoluble cell–cell and extracellular matrix–cell interactions, as well as soluble factors—that appear Address correspondence and reprint requests to: Fang-Xu Jiang, The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Parkville 3050, Australia. Knowledge of how these signals control the development of pancreatic endocrine stem/precursor cells into fully functional insulin-secreting cells is a platform for the restoration of -cell function and the cure therapy of type 1 diabetes.

Extracellular Vesicles in Regenerative Medicine, a Brief Review
Extracellular vesicles were initially known as cellular waste carriers, while recent studies demonstrate that extracellular vesicles play important biological roles in all aspects of life-from single cells to mammalians. Their pathophysiological roles in some diseases like cancer are being decoded. Extracellular vesicles are divided into some classes and there are different strategies to isolat...
متن کاملPRIMARY PANCREATIC LYMPHOMA: A CASE REPORT AND LITERATURE REVIEW
Primary pancreatic lymphoma is a rare extranodal manifestation of any histopathologic subtype of B cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma that predominantly involves the pancreas. It comprises less than 0.2% of pancreatic malignancies and less than 0.7% of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. This lymphoma is almost never suspected clinically. It is usually diagnosed by surgical exploration for suspected adenoca...
متن کاملReview of Differentiation and Proliferation of Primordial Germ Cells in Culture
Primordial germ cells (PGCs) are highly specialized cell population that arises from the epiblast in vivo. There are three critical steps in the life cycle of these cells: 1-Specification 2-migration and proliferation 3-prenatal and postnatal sex specific development. Specification of germ cells in epiblast occurs due to signals secreted from extraembryonic tissues. Primordial germ cells are re...

Background and purpose: Sclera and choroid as external and middle tunic of the eye, originate from the mesenchyme surrounding the optic cup. Neural crest cells have major contribution in mesenchyme development. Main part of transmitter signals in eyes development are extracellular matrix components and cell surface glycoconjugates. The purpose of this study was to recognize extracellular m...
متن کاملA review of advances in pancreatic tissue engineering
Background: A common treatment for patients with type 1 diabetes in which pancreatic beta cells are destroyed by their own immune system attack, is insulin injection. Because this treatment is not able to maintain complete glucose homeostasis compared to the function of endogenous insulin secreted by the pancreas; in the field of pancreatic tissue engineering, various treatment strategies have ...
